The COVID-19 tennis world
Since the pandemic started in March 2020, everything in the tennis world underwent series of cancelations, interruptions, and shutdowns. Many players were stuck in countries, forced to be away from their families. They were in a situation that none of us have been in or seen before, for an unlimited period of time.
For almost a year, players were left with no income, no tournaments, and no relief benefits because of the constant lockdowns all over the world. Consequently, the COVID-19 tennis world caused many players to quit because of the financial struggles they were in. Others, had to come up with innovative solutions on how to earn some type of extra income. In fact, this is exactly what happened to the founders of CBDVed. Struggling financially in the COVID-19 tennis world, the owners decided to create an organic way of helping athletes recover faster with our CBD Muscle Gel.
Achieving equality
With the resuming of tennis in 2021, women have been struggling to play because of the limited scheduled events. Compared to those of men, which are almost 30% more.
Equality is a topic that is still overly sensitive in the tennis community. Despite, the efforts of the organizations to create equal opportunities, there is still room for improvement.
For example, according to ABC News, “The 125th-ranked woman, Katarzyna Kawa of Poland, has earned $22,944 in prize money in 2020.” ” Compared to “the 175th-ranked man, Carlos Taberner of Spain, $34,114” This is a difference in almost 50% for women.
Furthermore, in the 2021 Australian Open, the male and female winners won $2.750 mil, and $1.855mil respectively. This is also a significant difference of 856k in favor of the men.
However, despite the inequality, our tennis women are setting some historical achievements both on and off the court.
For example, “Naomi Osaka’s rapid ascent to success as a tennis champion has been’, “stratospheric.” She becomes the highest paid female athlete in the world. She furthers her off court success by “debuting her first campaign with a luxury fashion house: Louis Vuitton”.
Other great examples of women kicking a** are Coco Gauff, Iga Świątek, and many more.
